teach in Colombia

Ethnic diversity has become a section of why I chose in the future teach in Colombia. Being of mixed background, myself, Ive always been thinking about other cultures and ethnicities, so when I had the opportunity to come reside in a country with a couple of variations, I knew I couldnt pass it. The assorted cultural heritage may be the results of the interaction between native inhabitants of the country, Spanish colonists, African those who were originally held as slaves, plus more recent immigrants in the Middle East and Europe. In the event you thought the United States was the only real melting pot of backgrounds, you were wrong! I used to be wanting to understand all these different sets of people and the way they have combined efforts to give Colombia the taste it's today.

But the diversity isnt just regarding the people, the geography is equally as varied - or even more! Its the most megadiverse country per square kilometer on the planet! Most of the big cities have been in the Andes highlands, so thats what people most commonly consider after they think about Colombia, nevertheless it actually encompasses section of the Amazon rainforest and both Caribbean and Pacific coastlines. There are 6 main areas of the country, geography-wise, which results in a lot of diversity.

If youre in any way thinking about animals, then you will love Colombia. Its actually the most biodiverse country in the world, meaning it has the highest rate of species by area and also the largest variety of species that are not found anywhere else in the world! Colombia is your place to see some of the rarest breeds on the planet, with over 1800 different kinds of birds and 450 forms of mammals, not to mention the a large number of different types of fish, both fresh and brine. Where else in the world would you view a jaguar, Amazon river dolphin, blue and yellow macaw, and banded armadillo all within the borders of merely one country?

You shouldnt be concerned about safety, despite what you may have heard in news bulletins lately. For a long time, conflicts in Colombia deterred tourists from visiting or residing in the nation, but recently facts tourists have skyrocketed, thanks to vast improvements in security and safety in the united states. In fact, over 3 million tourists visited in 2011, up about 11% from previous years.
